On 10 June 2026, SPHERA participated in the workshop “The future of European research: integrity, freedom and trust”, organised by the European Parliament's Panel for the Future of Science and Technology (STOA) in Brussels. The event brought together researchers, policymakers and experts to discuss key challenges facing European research, including research integrity, academic freedom, artificial intelligence and public trust in science.

SPHERA was invited to contribute to the session “Integrity, trust in science and academic freedom”, where we discussed the intersection between these three key dimensions and presented the "SPHERA Declaration on Defence of Science", a call from the European scientific community drafted by the SPHERA Consortium in April 2025.
